Now I can create the desired artboard size and rename it to the name I need with just 2 presses of a button! Then, I assigned each script to an action so that I could create keyboard shortcuts for them. Var abIdx = () Ī = "Job Jacket" // set the new name here set a new name eg "Job Jacket" for the active artboard in active document So I asked for help with this script and someone kindly came up with this script that would automatically rename the active artboard: Then, I needed to rename the artboard to something specific. Set numArtboardsAfter to count every artboard in document 1 Set newArtboard to make new artboard in document 1 with properties - left, top, right, bottom Select the size of the artboard you want, and click OK. The Resize Artboard dialog box will appear. From the Artboard menu, choose the Resize Artboard command. ![]() Set numArtboardsBefore to count every artboard in document 1 Open the artboard you want to resize, and select the Artboard menu item from the Illustrator toolbar. You need to have the document open to be able to change the size. I found this one and edited the size to the size I needed: First, open the document by clicking on it, or once in Illustrator, you can go to File on the top menu, and then Open and choose the file you want to open. I searched for a script that would automatically create a new artboard to the size I needed. Taking your idea of an action, I elaborated on it a good bit. ![]() Or change the Width and Height values in the Control panel above your document window. Then click on any of the edges and corners of your canvas and drag it to resize. This will leave you with a resized artboard. You can change the canvas size in Adobe Illustrator by selecting the Artboard Tool from the Toolbar or using keyboard shortcuts Shift + O. Insert Menu Item: Object > Artboards > Fit to Selected Art
